Good Magazine's "Redesign Your Farmer's Market" Winner

Good Magazine recently issued a challenge to architects and designers to redesign their local farmer's market and help farmers distribute quality produce to citydwellers. Because farmer's markets are a cause close to our hearts and a resource we rely on in our own New York City, we posted an image of the winner's work here. The winning design system utilized a network of electric trucks that distribute food from a central market.

Pocket Seafood Selector

We love it when graphic design is leveraged to promote a cause. The Environmental Defense Fund has created a handy pocket seafood selector, a wallet-sized brochure you can download, print and keep in your wallet. The seafood selector lists which seafood choices are environmentally sustainable so you can eat fish to yur heart's content and know that you are not contributing to the depletion of ocean populations.

It also lists the fish highest in Mercury or PCB contaminants so you can easily make more healthy choices. Seafood lovers rejoice!

Appealing Pocket Guides to Dim Sum and Sushi

Our foodie friends Kit Shan Li and Minori Fukuda have created two visually-appealing guides to Dim Sum and Sushi. Pictured alongside each item is its name in Chinese or Japanese characters as well as a handy pronunciation guide. The guides graphically explain everything from how to hold your chopsticks properly to correct form for pouring tea. We recommend them for anyone travelling to China or Japan.
